The multicolored dancing lights of the northern lights are a phenomenon which, if the KP index is low, can only be recorded under favorable circumstances and with appropriate equipment.
But even then, this experience is only vaguely imaginable when looking at the recordings, if you have not stood under a black starry sky, over which lights in green colors with a red border suddenly dance, as if someone had started to play the harp strings stretched between the stars.
The lights become more and more powerful and quickly merge, so that the entire sky is finally covered with bright green and the landscape is illuminated with a spectacular greenish light.
These effects only last a few minutes and subside just as quickly as they build up. The selected location cannot be changed in this short time window, but the viewing angle can.
The greatest challenge, however, is likely to be not to forget to press the shutter release button on the camera while watching this overwhelming natural phenomenon.
