NFT 021: Flooding at the blue hour in Cologne on the Rhine

Photographing Cologne from the Rheinauen at the blue hour is always exciting. The impressive crane buildings are the most attractive motif, but there are also other compositions that are impressive, too.

In this photo, a concrete wall protrudes from the stream, framed by colorful stripes that come from the colorful reflections of the light sources on the opposite bank of the Rhine. The long-term exposure leads to the desired silky effect on the water surface and a flashlight puts the concrete wall in the right light.

That was the last photo of this evening photo series, because the fingers were finally frozen so stiff that the shutter release of the camera could hardly be pressed.
