On the Altiplano plateau at an altitude of over 3,800 meters is the largest freshwater lake in South America with over 8,000 square kilometers: Lake Titicaca. The border between Bolivia and Peru runs through it and there are interesting islands on both sides.

The Peruvian island of "Taquile" was made famous by the knitting men. And on the Bolivian side you can visit the Moon and Sun Island. Sacred places, because according to tradition you enter the birthplace of the first Incas Manco Cápac and his sister Mama Oclla on the island of the sun.

After an interesting train ride through the Altiplano plateau of the Andes, we started exploring Lake Titicaca in Puno. From here you can also get to the floating islands of the Urus on the Bolivian seafront.
