The current hype about non-fungible tokens (NFT) offers photographers, galleries and web designers new opportunities to expand their existing business models. However, the digital crypto world has its own rules of the game and a hasty entry is not recommended here.
The German Society for Photography has therefore organized a three-part workshop for members in which the fundamentals, practice and market opportunities of NFTs are dealt with. These recordings of the first and second lecture describe the development history of blockchain technology, the "mining" of an NFT in the Ethereum blockchain and the storage of digital products based on their content as a hash value in the Inter Planetary File System (IPFS).
